Steel transportation is our specialty
IJmond Transport Groep has a number of specialities. Important mainstays of the Group include steel transportation and the transportation of raw materials for the production of steel. Because of its specialisation, IJmond Transport Groep is one of the largest steel transporters in Europe. IJmond Transport Groep plays an important role in the transportation of diverse coiled steel for various steel manufacturers both nationally and internationally.
Offices in Belgium and the Netherlands facilitate optimum use of equipment.
Innovation is quality
Innovation in the transport field takes an important place alongside thorough market knowledge in the management of IJmond Transport Groep. The company was one of the first to work with onboard computers. Online connections with the most important clients came shortly afterwards. IJmond Transport Groep is also a pioneer in the area of covering systems for dump-loading bins. The Group has introduced weighing systems on dump lorries including the registration of the weights carried and the type of goods. IJmond's latest innovation is the introduction of the so-called Roadtrain on the Hoogovens site. This unique combination will make it possible to transport three times as much load with one truck as with a single dump lorry.
National and international (steel)transport
For coil transport, IJmond Transport Groep has special trailers fitted with so-called coil gutters under latches. These gutters have a maximum width of 1.31 metres and are designed for transporting steel coils with diameters of between 0.85 and 2.20 metres.
As well as trailers for transporting steel coils, IJmond Transport Groep has tilt-trailers, Taut Liners, telescopic trailers, container frames and semi deep loaders. In fact the Groep has a complete range of semi-trailers at its disposal, so a solution can be offered for every transport problem.
Dump Transport
IJmond Transport Groep dump fleet is extremely diverse, from dump lorries in a 4 x 2 configuration to 8 x 8 dump lorries. A number of these tippers are fitted with a cargo crane for multi-functional use.
IJmond Transport Groep also has dump lorries for delivery, with and without trailers, fitted with containers with a capacity of between 3 and 30 cubic metres.
It goes without saying that the IJmond Transport Groep dump lorries are fitted with cover plates and meet the strictest environmental standards. One of the Groep's innovations is the Roadtrain. This is used for internal transport on the Hoogovens site.
Upon request, IJmond Transport Groep can also supply vertical transport.
